Step 1

Skin Analysis

Every facial at The Face Lab begins with a professional skin analysis to ensure your treatment is tailored specifically to your skin’s unique needs.

During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin type, hydration levels, oil production, texture, pore size, and overall skin health.

We’ll identify any concerns such as acne, congestion, sensitivity, pigmentation, redness, fine lines, or signs of ageing, while discussing your current skincare routine, lifestyle, and any medical considerations that may affect your treatment.

Step 2

Cleanse

A double-cleanse with CeraVe calming cleaner to lift makeup and sebum, followed by a Hypochlorous Acid spray Cleanse to clear pores.

Step 3

Double Cleanse + Steam

This stage of your acne facial combines a professional clay-to-foam cleanser with gentle steam to deeply cleanse and refine the skin.

As the cleanser works, warm steam helps soften the skin and loosen congestion within the pores, making it easier to remove blackheads and impurities during the extraction stage.

Step 4

Liquid Exfoliation

This stage of your acne facial combines a professional liquid exfoliant with gentle steam to deeply cleanse and refine the skin. The exfoliating solution works to dissolve dead skin cells, excess oil and surface impurities that can contribute to blocked pores and breakouts, leaving your complexion smoother and brighter.

As the exfoliant works, warm steam helps soften the skin and loosen congestion within the pores, making it easier to remove blackheads and impurities during the extraction stage.

Step 5

Toning

Following cleansing and exfoliation, a Kaeso calming toner is applied to refresh and rebalance the skin while removing any remaining impurities.

Formulated for acne-prone skin, it helps minimise the appearance of pores, reduce excess oil and restore the skin’s natural pH balance after cleansing.

We then follow with a cold towel compress to reduce redness and inflammation before moving on to the next step.

Step 6

Tea Tree Hydrojelly Mask

Our Tea Tree HydroJelly Mask is the perfect finishing treatment for acne-prone and congested skin. Infused with the soothing and purifying properties of tea tree, this cooling mask helps calm redness, reduce excess oil and leave the skin feeling refreshed after extractions and exfoliation.

This is accompanied by a relaxing Jojoba oil décolletage massage.

Step 7

Blue LED Light Therapy

Blue Light Therapy is a powerful, non-invasive treatment designed to target acne-causing bacteria and support clearer, healthier-looking skin. Using specific wavelengths of blue LED light, this treatment helps reduce the bacteria associated with breakouts while calming inflammation and minimising redness.

As part of your acne facial, Blue Light Therapy works alongside the deep cleansing and exfoliation stages to promote a clearer complexion and help prevent future blemishes.

Regular treatments can help reduce the frequency of breakouts, improve overall skin clarity and support the skin’s natural healing process.

Step 8

Moisturising

The final step of your acne facial is the application of a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser to hydrate and protect your skin without clogging pores.

Although acne-prone skin often produces excess oil, maintaining proper hydration is essential for a healthy skin barrier and a balanced complexion.

Step 9

SPF

Every acne facial is finished with the application of a broad-spectrum SPF to protect your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Following exfoliation and active skincare treatments, your skin can be more sensitive to sunlight, making daily sun protection an essential step in maintaining healthy skin.

Our lightweight, non-comedogenic SPF is specially selected for acne-prone skin, providing effective protection without clogging pores or leaving a heavy, greasy finish. It helps defend against sun damage, reduces the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation following breakouts and supports your skin’s natural healing process.

Step 10

Aftercare

All of our facials come with aftercare instructions and small sachets of product to apply on the evening of your facial and the next morning, ensuring your skin absorbs the products tailored to you whilst it is exfoliated and at its most absorbent.
